Nose
Very fruity. Some peach and overripe pineapple and pear. Overall, on the light-fruity side. In addition, a certain heaviness due to the tannins that age brings with it. A little tobacco and vanilla, everything looking very sedate and ripe. The alcohol is barely noticeable.
Mouth/Palate
Very creamy, soft and oily. Incredibly fruity, but rather light-fruity with a touch of the exotic. The tannins give it a wonderful volume without making it bitter in the beginning, which unfortunately can happen more often with such an old malt. The age, which the malt already shows in the nose, presents itself even better in the taste. Incredibly full-bodied and harmonious. The fruits are joined by a maltiness and a nice sweetness that is more reminiscent of honey than vanilla.
Finish
The finish is long, warming but very delicate. This malt doesn't overwhelm you, it is incredibly pleasant to drink. If you take a lot of time for it, it reveals itself to be very multifaceted, but at the same time it is incredibly easy to drink without worrying too much. A really great laddie!
