Nose
Very obvious Sherry at first, mostly on strong plum marmalade. There is something rotten in the most amazing way. Farmy notes (manure), earth, mould. The peat shines through, despite the heavy Sherry maturation. Very present note of Eucalyptus.
Mouth/Palate
Oily, slightly vegetal arrival. Some damp wood. But it only lasts for a very short time until the oak kicks in, and it's here to stay. You'd have to fight your way through it, to get past it. Astringent and very present alcohol. Water destroys it completely, so that is not an option. There is some depth beyond that, but it is hard to reach. It certainly is mouth coating and there are some redeeming factors.
Finish
Medium to long and briefly oaky. Then some herbs and coffee kick in.
