Nose
Fresh Belgian waffles with hot cherries and cream is what comes to mind first. Then, cinnamon, lemon milkshake, pear drop, vanilla and honey. Although a bit alcoholic and maybe, it's very friendly overall and doesn't come across as many NAS whiskies.
Mouth/Palate
Quite full bodied, rather sweet at first but with drying oak following put. It's a tad hot from the alcohol. It's earthier and more herbal now, with liquorice root and sage. Digestive biscuit, lemon balm, forest fruit, drying ginger powder and clove. Not as promising as on the nose.
Finish
The spicy character stays and lasts for quite a while. What has given some structure has become quite dominant. Pepper, ginger clove overpower notes of vanilla biscuit, soft wood, rich barley and lemon zest.
